Tom McKimson Marvin the Martian Color Model Animation Art (Warner Brothers, 1980-90s). Hand over the Illudium Q-36 Explosive Space Modulator. Marvin the Martian has proved to be a very popular foil for both Bugs and Daffy since his first (unnamed) appearance in 1958's Hare-Way to the Stars. This extremely colorful piece is a color model test for a painting from the hand of Tom McKimson (1907-1998). McKimson started in Bob Clampett's unit where he did the first design of Tweety Bird. He also animated in his brother Robert McKimson's unit as well. He went on to work at Dell Comics and Western Publishing. Marvin stands 8.5" tall in this matted mixed media piece on 8.5" x 11" paper. It is signed very boldly by Tom McKimson in the art image. In Fine condition.
