Tom & Jerry with Bill and Joe Publicity Cel and Bumper Card Group of 2 (Hanna-Barbera, c. 1990s/1975). Here's an outstanding publicity photo of Bill Hanna and Joe Barbera paired with a hand-painted cel of Tom & Jerry creating a fantastic publicity cel setup. Created in the 1940s by Bill and Joe, Tom & Jerry would become one of their most popular characters with over 160 theatrical shorts. The series features comic fights between an iconic pair of adversaries, a house cat and a mouse. Included in this lot is a very RARE bumper card from the 1975 series, The Tom and Jerry Show. In broadcasting, a commercial bumper, or break-bumper often shortened to bump, is a brief announcement, usually two to fifteen seconds in length that can contain a voice over, placed between a pause in the program and its commercial break, and vice versa. Programming bumpers include phrases such as, "We'll be right back after these messages" or variations of it. This bumper indicates, Stay Tuned. Bumper cels are great additions to any animation art collection as they are often reused and rarely come to market. Overall condition is Very Good.
