Tom and Jerry Production Cel Setup (MGM, c. 1950s). One of the most successful cartoon teams in American animation was cat and mouse duo Tom and Jerry. The pair racked up an impressive 163 theatrical shorts; the first was Puss Gets the Boot in 1940. The series was directed by Bill Hanna and Joe Barbera, and then later by Gene Deitch in 1961, and Chuck Jones from 1963 to 1967, with one additional theatrical short directed by Joe Barbera (his last) and Spike Brandt in 2005, The Karate Guard. Here are those famous battling buddies in an original hand-inked, hand-painted 2-cel setup, with Jerry blowing a raspberry to Tom. Figure sizes are approximately 1.75" and 5.75". The background is a print, added for presentation purposes. Matted with an opening of 11.5" x 8.5", with an overall image size of 18" x 15". In Very Good condition with minor handling wear.
