Description

Toby Tortoise Returns Toby Tortoise and Max Hare Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1936). "Oh... hahaha... There ya are..." Max Hare offers the slow-moving Toby Tortoise a chance at an uppercut in this magnificent original animation drawing from the theatrical short Toby Tortoise Returns. Directed by Wilfred Jackson and released to theaters on 8/22/1936, this hilarious short is a sequel to 1935's The Tortoise and the Hare, telling the story of a boxing match between the two characters. Created for the moment seen at the 1:48 mark of the film, this drawing is a spectacular image of the characters, measuring an overall 11" x 5". The piece is rendered in graphite and color pencil on 12 field 5-peghole animation paper. This image perfectly encapsulates the spirit of the cartoon, a must-have for any fan of the comedic classic. Numbered 72 in the lower right corner, the drawing shows minor handling and edge wear, and the condition is Very Good.
