Description

To Itch His Own Butcher the Bulldog Production Cel (Warner Brothers, 1958). While the character on this cel resembles Marc Antony, it is actually a character called Butcher the Bulldog. This is a very rare 12 field, hand-inked and hand-painted production cel of Butcher, from the short written by Mike Maltese and directed by Chuck Jones, released on 6/28/58. The story involved the Mighty Angelo, the strongest flea in Norbet's Flea Circus, taking a vacation in the fur of a friendly dog. The image is a nice 5" x 7", and comes from the scene in which Butcher is pulled through a knothole in a wooden fence at about 4:18 minutes in. Major paint separation and paint loss; "#14" is written in the bottom right corner of the cel. Looney Tunes cels from the 1950s are extremely rare!
