The Wonderful World of Oz Theme Park Pitch Photograph Group of 9 (Landmark Entertainment, c. 1990s). The Wizard of Oz premiered on 8/25/39. One of the most beloved movies of all time, it is celebrating its 80th birthday in 2019. It became one of the most watched films on television beginning in the 1950s, up to present day. It has had countless releases on laser disc, VHS tape and DVDs. This ill-fated theme park project, one that seemed to make so much sense for the state of Kansas, was unsuccessful in its efforts to get made. It lost out to NASCAR, questionable land areas, and legislation. The elaborate plans done by Landmark Entertainment make you wish this park got made. This is a group of original Landmark Entertainment pitch photos for the various parts of the six themed areas within the park. These matted large 30" x 40" photos of concept art showcase "Professor Marvel's World," "The Munch Inn Restaurant," "Wonderful World of Oz Park Entrance area," "Munchkinland," "Yellow Brick Country," "An Oz Stage Show setting," a Kansas Barn, and town square. Also, a smaller presentation print of the "Flying Monkeys hanging coaster ride" is included. This piece is 21" x 19". A fascinating look into what could have been one great theme park. These are among the major presentation "Pitch" props used to try to get this made. There are nine large pieces in this lot. Minor handling and edge wear. Overall Good condition. This lot will have to ship from Dallas to the winning bidder.
