    Description

The Wearing of the Grin Production Background (Warner Brothers, 1951). This was the last of Porky Pig's solo cartoon work. Porky spends a rainy night in a castle full of Leprechauns who think he is out to steal their gold. Directed by Chuck Jones and Mike Maltese, this short was released on 7-14-51. This hand-painted background can be seen at about 4:24 into the cartoon, just after Porky falls through a tunnel and lands in this very chair! The background measures 15.5" x 9.5" and is labeled "Sc 38 - 36 - 45," so it was used in all three of those scenes. Pinholes in corners, handling and wear, some minor folds on the corners, but main image area is in Fine condition.
