The Three Caballeros Donald Duck Production Cel and Background (Walt Disney, 1945). This is the second compilation film that the Walt Disney Studios completed after Walt's entourage trip to South America. This is an original Courvoisier set-up of a carefully hand-trimmed production cel of Donald Duck mounted to an original hand-painted production background from the film. The "map of Brazil" background art has been trimmed to approximately 10" x 8" for the set-up, protected with a clear nitrate cel placed over the art. Donald stands 4"; there are a few cracks within his eye, fingers, and backside plus some slight discoloration to the white areas of Don's body, but no major paint loss. A portion of the original Courvoisier mat with WDP stamp and a "Best Wishes to Jim -- Walt Disney" signature (a Studio signature consistent with Walt's, probably done by Hank Porter or Tom Wood) has been included in a new matting which measures 16" x 15".
