    Description

The Sword in the Stone Book Illustration Cel Setup with Key Master Background (Walt Disney, 1963). This is an original, one-of-a-kind, hand-painted cel with its Key Master background illustration, for a Sword and the Stone printed publication. The artwork was created exactly the same as the animation art to faithfully carry over the look and feel of the film into printed form. The top cel contains the character images and beneath it is a black line test cel of the background, and a gouache on board painting under that. It's a magnificent composition of Wart, with Merlin and Archimedes, in Merlin's home. The art is framed under glass with a mat opening measuring 8" x 11" in a 16" x 17.5" frame. The piece shows very minor handling wear, and the condition is Fine. Frame is sold as-is.
