The Sword in the Stone Animation Drawings Sequence Group (Walt Disney, 1963). A wonderful sequence of seventeen 16 field, 3-peghole animation drawings of Merlin. All are large, full-figure images of 8" to 9", done in graphite, with slight red and blue pencil highlights, and all are from the hand of Disney Legend and original member of Disney's Nine Old Men, Mr. Ollie Johnston. The sequence includes numbers 41, 43, 47, 49, 51, 55, 57, 61, 63, 67, 69, 73, 77, 81, 83, 85, and 87 (85 and 87 have a clear sheet of acetate over them). There is minor handling and edge wear. Beautiful drawings, it's rare to see a scene of this quality from this film! In Very Good condition. Note: The lot comes with the original 20" x 10" animation Timing Sheet indicating Johnston as the animator to this lot's drawings. Printed Model sheets of Merlin and of Wart as a squirrel are also included in the lot.
