Description
The Smurfs Stock Production Background of Hogatha's Castle (Hanna-Barbera, c. 1980s). First appearing in Season 1 episode "Bewitched, Bothered, and Be-Smurfed," evil witch Hogatha appeared frequently in the Smurfs animated series, usually motivated by her desire to become beautiful. Here is a beautiful original stock production background depicting the quaint castle in which Hogatha lives. This lovely piece exemplifies the simple yet charming style that the Smurfs backgrounds were created in. Stock backgrounds like this one were used over and over throughout the series, rather than just being created for one specific scene. This piece is rendered with gouache and ink on 12 field background board. It is numbered in its lower right corner with BG1250 and 240STK. The piece is in Very Good condition, with some handling and edge wear from production use. There is minor scuffing, as well as a small surface abrasion on the lower right side of the piece.Auction Info
