    Description

The Smurfs Painter Smurf and Harmony Smurf Production Cel Group of 2 with Animation Drawing (Hanna-Barbera, c. 1981-89). Based on the 1956 Belgian comics by the artist Peyo, Hanna-Barbera's The Smurfs series brought the little blue characters overseas in a big way in 1981. Featuring a wide cast of over 100 lovable secondary characters, The Smurfs created a large fictional community of interesting characters that wouldn't be matched again until The Simpsons. Featured here in these beautiful hand-painted original production cels are Painter Smurf and Harmony Smurf. The French-accented Painter Smurf is depicted working on a "masterpizza" at 3.25" x 3.25", and Harmony Smurf attempts to blare his trumpet with an image area of approximately 5.5" x 6". In addition, Harmony Smurf comes with his accompanying animation drawing, rendered in graphite with blue and red pencil on 12 field animation paper. Harmony's upper half in the drawing is a taped Xerox cutout. The cels and paper show minor handling wear, and the cels are taped to printed backgrounds for presentation purposes. The condition of each piece is Fine.
