    Description

The Skatebirds Title Card/Production Cel (Hanna-Barbera, 1977-78). This is the original title card/cel for the CBS Saturday morning cartoon, The Skatebirds. The show, much like The Banana Splits, featured four short segments hosted by live-action wraparounds featuring The Skatebirds, three large birds played by actors in costumes. Title cards, or a title sequence, have routinely played a central role in establishing the show's identity. Repeated at the beginning of every new and rebroadcast episode, usually with limited changes over the course of the series' run, they can become highly memorable. Theme music played during the sequence may be remembered clearly by viewers decades later. This outstanding title card was hand-painted on 12 field acetate and placed over an orange color card. Included is a studio publicity photo of the live-action characters. Condition is very Good.
