The Shooting of Dan McGoo Red Hot Lou Production Cel and Painted Background (MGM, 1945). "Put your arms around me Wolfie... hold me tight!" sings Lou (aka Red) in this memorable Tex Avery-directed short. The cartoon takes place in Coldernell, Alaska in the Malamute Saloon. Droopy stars as Dangerous Dan McGoo and his girlfriend is the stage singer Lou (played by Red Hot). His nemesis, naturally, is the Wolf. This short was released on 3/3/45. Sara Berner was the speaking voice of Lou, and Imogene Lynn was her singing voice. This is an incredible hand-inked, hand-painted production cel of Lou/Red in mid-song, with a great full-figure image size of 8". This has to be one of the single best Red cels we have seen. The cel is hand-signed by Preston Blair (1908 - 1995), who did most of the animation on all of Red's singing and dancing on stage. The cel is on a custom-made background, added for presentation purposes. This superb cel is matted with an opening of 11" x 10", and framed with glass for an overall size of 18" x 16.5". Frame is sold as-is. Cel condition is Very Good.
