Description
The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show Rocket J. Squirrel Signed Scene Cel (Jay Ward, 1989). "A thunder of jets, in an open sky, a streak of gray and a cheerful ... Hi!" This is how the opening of Rocky and Friends began in 1959. June Foray (The First Lady of Animation) was the voice of Rocket J. Squirrel. This is a rare hand-inked, hand-painted 12 field Scene Cel that was sold at the Dudley Do-Right Emporium located on Sunset Blvd in West Hollywood (open 1971-2005). This great flying image measures 3" x 8". Scene Cels were sold unsigned, but his one is signed by the voice of Rocky, June Foray (1917 - 2017); Rocky and Bullwinkle directors Gerard Baldwin and Bill Hurtz (1919 - 2000); and Jay Ward (1920 - 1989). The cel is matted with a opening of 9.5" x 12" and an overall mat of 16" x 20". Condition is Fine.More information about Jay Ward Studios. See also: Ward Studios Artist.
