    Description

The Rescuers Penny Production Cel (Walt Disney, 1977). The little orphan Penny clutches to her Teddy just before she is discovered by The Rescuers in this original production cel from Disney's hit animated film. The Rescuers was so popular around the world that Disney produced it's first animated sequel The Rescuers Down Under 13 years later. This heartwarming hand-painted image measures 5" x 8" on a laminated 16 field production cel and can be seen at the 54:26 mark. It bears a studio seal in the lower left corner and is hand-numbered 105 in the lower right. This film is often considered as the start of the Disney renaissance and was the last joint effort by veterans Milt Kahl, Ollie Johnston, and Frank Thomas. Due to the studio's lamination process the cel has a ripple that runs along the right edge of the character and through her hair. Minor handling and condition is Very Good.
