The Reluctant Dragon Goofy Production Cel Courvoisier Setup (Walt Disney, 1941). This film featured the "How to Ride a Horse" section, starring Goofy and Percy. It was directed by Jack Kinney and was the first of Goofy's "How To" series. Narration was by John McLeish. He says "We'll go back and try that again!" when the jump over the fence seems to fall short; this is where you see this image. It comes at about the 42:56 mark into the feature film. This is a great hand-inked, hand-painted Courvoisier production cel of both Goofy and Percy in the tree. The cel is on a hand-prepared background, and has the original Courvoisier mat handwritten "Overindulge Shyness" script on a new mat. This is one of the finest cels from this cartoon we have seen, with an amazing image size of 7". This popular segment was released on its own as a theatrical short on 2/24/50. Courvoisier released these cels with clever riding instructions printed on the mats. This cel has been professionally restored. Matted with a mat opening of 10" x 13". Fine condition.
