    Description

The Old Plantation Animation Drawings Group of 2 (MGM, 1937). This is a pair of rare animation drawings from the Harmon Ising/Happy Harmonies cartoon The Old Plantation. This short centered around a bunch of toys engaging in a horse race to save the plantation from foreclosure. Due to its insensitive racial stereotyping, this cartoon is no longer shown. It is, however, the very first MGM cartoon to feature Tanner the MGM Lion at it's start! The drawings features three characters measuring approximately 3", 7", and 8" rendered in graphite with red and yellow highlights on two 12 field sheets of animation paper. The pieces show minor handling wear; otherwise condition is Very Good.
