The New Batman Adventures Joker and Harley Quinn Production Cel Sequence of 6 with Animation Drawing (Warner Brothers, c. 1997-99). "I swear Mr. J, I didn't encourage him!" An unbelievably rare sequence of a whopping SIX hand-painted original production cels, this kinetic series of cels features The Joker and Harley Quinn as he saves her from The Creeper. In addition, included in this lot is an original animation drawing from the sequence. From the episode "Beware the Creeper" from The New Batman Adventures, a canonical continuation of the ground-breaking Batman: The Animated Series, this is a rare sequence of cels that tells a complete, almost comic-like story, one that showcases the popular albeit dysfunctional and jealous relationship of Harley Quinn and "Mr. J". The fan-favorite Harley Quinn made her debut appearance in the series, and she was a fresh new foil for the Joker, adding dimensions to the classic villain that previously were absent. Each of these pieces comes with an official Warner Brothers seal, and the cels are accompanied by five Warner Brothers Certificates of Authenticity. Celebrated for its dark, mature themes and stellar animation atypical of action cartoons preceding it, Batman: The Animated Series set a new high standard for Saturday morning cartoons, and it was the first in the continuity of the shared DC animated universe. These spectacular 12 field cels from the pivotal series are taped to printed backgrounds for presentation purposes, and they show minor handling. The drawing shows minor handling and edge wear with folding in the upper right corner, and the condition overall is Very Good.
