The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea One-of-One Cels and Production Background (Walt Disney, 2000). This lot is from the sequel to the hit 1989 feature film The Little Mermaid and was released as a direct-to-video film on 9/19/2000. It was a storyline ten years after the original and was about Ariel and her daughter Melody. It was the first of two direct-to-video Mermaid films. This is an outstanding hand-painted pan production background of the ocean floor with two one-of-one hand-painted cels of Ariel and Flounder in sequence. The cels were made from the original 12 field animation drawings, which are included in the lot. These ideal character images measure 6" and 7" tall. The background is stamped "Original production background by Walt Disney Television Animation." These setups were usually only available at high-end gallery and theme park events. Framed with mat opening of 9.5" x 24", in a frame with an overall size of 18" x 33". A Disney seal is on the cel and Certificate of Authenticity is mounted on the back of the frame. Condition is Fine.
