    The Little Mermaid Ariel and Flounder Production Cel with Key Master Background (Walt Disney, 1989). "Ariel, listen to me! De human world is a mess!" says Sebastian to Ariel at the beginning of the tour-de-force show stopping "Under the Sea" musical number. This is an original hand-painted production cel of Ariel and Flounder sitting on the under-the-sea grotto. The cels, with hand-inked water effects bubble cels, are on their Key Master hand-painted production background. You can see this image around the 2:25 mark into the song. This was sold at the famous "Art of the Little Mermaid" Auction in New York City on Saturday, December 15, 1990, almost 30 years ago. This was lot #81. Take the cels off and you see a stunning undersea background. Backgrounds in this film were painted by Kathy Altier, Doug Ball, Greg Drolette, Dennis Durrell, Dean Gordon, Cristy Maltero, Andres and Phillip Phillipson, Brian Sebern and Donald Towns among others. The background painting in this setup is stunning. The overall setup is 9.5" x 13". It is in a frame of 20" x 17" with a mat opening of 12.5" x 9". A Disney Auction COA is on back of frame. Frame is sold as-is, artwork is in Very Good condition.
