The Little Mermaid Ariel and Eric Production Cel on Master Production Background (Walt Disney, 1989). "Sha-la-la-la-la-la! Float along and listen to the song. The song say kiss da girl." Presented is an original hand-painted 16 field production cel of Ariel with Prince Eric from Disney's last animated film to use cels. It's an adorable 9" x 6.5" image of the two as they officially meet for the first time and you can see this exact image around the 49:53 mark in this hit movie. The cel is over a Master production background which was sold as part of lot #209 at "The Art of the Little Mermaid" auction in New York on December 15, 1990. The gouache pan background from the "Kiss the Girl" sequence is marked Seq 9.1 SC 58 along the top border, and appears at the 1:01:46 mark. It comes with the Disney Certificate of Authenticity originally issued with it at the sale. It's a one-of-a-kind Master setup showcasing the title character from Disney's last traditionally animated feature film. The setup is framed under Plexiglas with a mat opening of 22" x 10" in a 32" x 20" frame. Condition is Very Good. Frame is sold as-is.
