DescriptionThe Hitch Hikers Painted Backgrounds Group of 2 (Terrytoons, 1947). Heckle and Jeckle hitch a ride, but they wind up in bandit Clancy's getaway car! Here are two original hand-painted 12 field backgrounds from this Connie Rasinski-directed film, released on 12/12/47. The first is noted in the top border area as 3-4 A and can be seen in online viewings at the 0:41 mark; the magpies walk up to the parked car and see Dimwit at the wheel. The second is merely noted as "BKGD," and appears at the 1:05 mark, as bullets fly through the air after Clancy leaves with the loot. Art is in gouache/watercolor with airbrushed highlights on skimmed boards; both have Terrytoons stamps on front (in upper margins) and on back. Condition is Good to Very Good with minor handling, and some minor discoloration on background 3-4 A.
