    Description

The Glass Slipper Production Cel with Key Master Background (Terrytoons, 1938). "Just a minute dearie, that slipper belongs to me!" In this Cinderella parody, the Fairy Godmother is played by a Mae West caricature. In this version as Cinderella slips on the glass slipper, Mae West re-appears and says she's the rightful owner, and leaves with the Prince. This Cinderella parody was directed by Mannie Davis and released on 10/7/38. This is a rare hand-inked, hand-painted production cel of Cinderella's pumpkin coach and coachmen with white mice pulling the coach as they head to the King's Castle for the ball. This rare production cel is on its hand-painted Key Master production background of the castle with a full moon behind it. Key Master setups from this studio of this era are incredibly rare. This image can be seen around the 2:36 mark into the cartoon. Coach with dust and mice are 5.5". The cel and Key Master background are in a frame of 19" x 16.5" with a mat opening of 11" x 8". The original cream color mat is in a new frame setup. The original mat is hand-signed by Paul Terry (1887 - 1971). His signature on his artwork is considered very rare. Frame is sold as-is. Artwork has minor handling. Overall condition is Very Good.
