The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas Shark Maquette (Universal, 2000). This prequel to director Brian Levant's 1994 big screen salute to The Flintstones, focused on the beginnings of everyone's favorite stone-age couples. Based on the Hanna-Barbera animated sitcom the film featured an array of pre-historic creatures and living household amenities, all created by Jim Henson's Creature Shop located in London. This original maquette is a concept for a fishing scene proposed for the film. The scene was cut early in the script stage and this magnificent one-of-a-kind sculpture is all that is left of this portion of the story. The incredibly detailed figure measures 6" x 7" x 16" and is hand-painted. It's mounted to a 18" x 9" x .5" black wood base which bears an embossed. Jim Henson's Creature Shop badge in the corner. It's a remarkable piece by the legendary creative group know for their work on Fraggle Rock, Labyrinth, Where the Wild things are and even on stage characters for Lady Gaga performances. Minor handling and condition is Very Good.
