The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas Polo Ball Maquette (Universal, 2000). This prehistoric prequel to the 1994 blockbuster hit The Flintstones centered on the early courtship, of Fred and Wilma, Barney and Betty. Near the start of the film it is revealed that Wilma Slaghoople comes from a life of priviledge and her young suitor Chip Rockefeller is an avid polo player. In this lot is an original maquette of the roly-poly little dinosaur who was to serve as the polo ball in a scene that was cut due to budgetary concerns. It was created at the famous Jim Henson Creature Shop in London which has since been relocated to Burbank California. It's an adorable character who bears a strong resemblance to another Henson creation, Baby Sinclair from the 1990's sitcom Dinosaurs. The one-of-a-kind figure measures 5" x 4.5" and is hand-painted. It is mounted to a 8" x 8" x .5" base that bears an official Jim Henson Creature Shop badge. This is a remarkably rare opportunity to own a unique character concept maquette produced by the legendary Jim Henson Creature Shop. Minor handling and condition is Very Good.
