The Dognapper Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck Animation Drawings Sequence of 13 (Walt Disney, 1934). Donald jumps into Mickey's lap upon hearing that Dognapper Peg Leg Pete is on the loose. This scene appears at the start of the short around the 1:03 mark. Offered in this lot is a sequence of 13 original drawings of Mickey and Donald as motorcycle cops from this early short directed by David Hand. This was first adventure story to pair the classic duo and the second of only three appearances by Donald in a black and white short. These tightly rendered graphite images of Mickey and the rare long-billed version of Donald are on 12 field 2-peghole animation paper. Each image measures approximately 4.5" x 3.5" and are numbered 120, 120 ½,121, 122, 125, 129, 131, 132, 133, 139, 140, 143, and 147. Thirteen consecutive production drawings of Mickey and Donald from the early days of Disney Studios is an enviable collection unto itself. Each drawing shows light toning, edge wear, and handling wear; otherwise, condition for the group is Very Good.
