DescriptionThe Crackpot King Production Background Art Group of 2 (Terrytoons, 1946). Here's a pair of hand-painted production backgrounds from a Mighty Mouse short directed by Eddie Donnelly, and released on 11/15/46. The background artists for this cartoon were Anderson Craig and Bill Hilliker. Both show castle walls; the first is noted as 37 in the upper right and can be found in online viewings at the 3:18 mark. The second piece comes near the end, as Mighty Mouse battles with the king's evil wolf wizard. It's marked as 60 in the upper margin, and has a trimmed production cel of the wizard's pointed hat that Mighty Mouse had used to swat at the the wolf. You can see this at the 4:14 mark. The art is in gouache/watercolor on skimmed boards. Condition is Very Good with minor handling and edge wear.
