The Cookie Carnival Production Cel and Painted Background (Walt Disney, 1935). This Silly Symphony short paid homage to the Atlantic City Boardwalk Parade and Bathing Beauty Pageants of the 1920s and '30s (which eventually became The Miss America Contest). This is a rare hand-inked hand-painted nitrate cel of the Cookie Queen (Miss Bon Bon) with the newly crowned King (the Hobo Cookie). The images are a staggering 8" tall. This is one of the nicest Silly Symphony cels we have ever seen. This short was directed by Ben Sharpsteen and was released on 5/25/35. The cel is on a custom, hand-painted presentation background inspired by the film's finale. The piece is framed with mat opening of 9" x 12" with an overall frame of 20" x 23". Condition is Fine.
