Description

    The Cat in the Hat Thing One and Thing Two Concept Art by Maurice Noble (DePatie-Freleng, 1971). Maurice Noble met Ted Geisel, Chuck Jones and Friz Freleng during World War II when they were all making Private Snafu cartoons together. This relationship lasted a lifetime. Maurice Noble went on to work on five Doctor Seuss animated projects; two with Chuck Jones directing, and three with Friz Freleng directing. This is a rare concept art/character design art from the of Maurice Noble of Thing One and Thing Two. Four images of these Cat in the Hat loveable characters, in gouache with pen and ink original artwork on 12 field 3-peghole animation paper. Maurice Noble was in charge of Production Design and Art Direction in The Cat in the Hat animated TV Special. Nice images of 4" to 6". This is some of the rarest Doctor Seuss-related artwork to hit the market. The artwork is hand-signed by Maurice Noble (1911-2001). Fine condition. From the Maurice Noble Archives.
