    Description

The Cat Came Back Production Background Art Group of 2 (Terrytoons, 1944). In this Connie Rasinski-directed short, Farmer Alfalfa and his dog try every trick in the book to rid themselves of an even trickier cat. These two original hand-painted 12 field production backgrounds show the interior of Farmer Al's home as they attempt to keep that cat outside. The first is noted as 23, and shows the stairs Al just slid down; it's on YouTube at the 2:33 mark. The second painted background shows the boarded-up door from inside; it's noted as 47, and seen at the 5:19 mark, as Al finds the cat he's trying to keep out helping him hammer in the nails! Both are painted in gouache/watercolor with airbrushed highlights on skimmed boards with Terrytoons stamps on the backs. Very Good condition with minor handling and edge wear.
