The Butcher of Seville Background Art Group of 2 (Terrytoons, 1944). This great parody of the opera was directed by Eddie Donnelly and released on 1/7/44. Here's a pair of hand-painted 12 field backgrounds from this "play within a cartoon." Both show the butcher's chopping block, and are notes as Sc 15 and Sc 15B; see the first one at the 2:08 mark as the wolf playing the butcher is first seen as the curtains rise. The second shows a close-up, as the wolf leans on the block; see it at the 2:23 mark. Both backgrounds are 12 field gouache/watercolor paintings, in Very Good condition with mild handling and tape residue in the bottom corners.
