The Banana Splits Promotional/Educational Cel (Hanna-Barbera, 1978). The Banana Splits -- Fleegle, Bingo, Drooper, and Snorky -- premiered on NBC on 9/7/68 in the Banana Splits Adventure Hour. They then made a live action/animated TV special filmed at Kings Island Amusement Park on 11/25/73 called The Banana Splits in Hocus Pocus Park. Once animated, these characters were then used a third time, in the Hanna-Barbera animated Educational Film Division. This division made films and film strips for schools using their library of characters. This is an amazing hand-painted frosted cel of all four Banana Splits with two school-aged children. The frosted cels are trimmed to image and mounted to pink board. This is the master proof for a poster that was made to promote the H-B Educational Film Division. The cel setup on board is an amazing 28" x 22". Characters are 9" - 11". A hand-painted cel of the show's logo is also on the setup. This may be the single largest Banana Splits art piece ever produced at the Studio. Minor handling. Fine condition.
