    Description

The Autograph Hound Groucho and Harpo Marx Animation Drawings Group of 2 (Walt Disney, 1939). The Marx Brothers are among the dozens of celebrities who appeared in this classic Jack King-directed short in which autograph hound Donald Duck sneaks into a Hollywood studio lot to collect autographs of the stars. These two production drawings can be found in the closing montage around the 7:20 mark as various celebrities discover that a real superstar, Donald Duck is in their midst. The first drawing features Groucho with his trademark cigar. He measures an impressive 7" x 7", rendered in graphite and numbered D14 in the lower right corner. The second is of Harpo in full-figure complete with horn. He measures 6" x 3.5, rendered in graphite and numbered D42 in the lower right. Both of these wonderfully detailed drawings are on oversized 16 field 5-peghole animation paper which shows very minor handling and edge wear. Groucho has a small portion of the lower left corner torn off; otherwise, condition for the lot is Very Good.
