    The Art of Preston Blair - Art Contest Winning Entry Original Art (1945). Preston Blair (1908 - 1995) made a name for himself at Walt Disney Studios, MGM Studios, Hanna-Barbera Studios and in the world of teaching animation with books from Warren Foster Publications. This is an important piece of art from the hand of Preston Blair -- original artwork that he entered in the Fourth National Print and Art Show held in Laguna Beach, in 1945. He won first place with this stunning drawing of his four-year-old son standing in a small tub of water with a water pitcher next to it. He titled the piece "Young Blair." Art is in graphite and charcoal on tan paper measuring 19" x 25". The artwork is hand-signed on the bottom as Preston Blair. The image size is 17". Newspaper clippings of his winning the contest are included in the lot. Page has minor handling and edge wear and edge tears. Some tape on back of border. Overall Good condition.
