The Army Mascot and Pluto and the Armadillo Pair of Original Key Master Production Backgrounds Attributed to Al Dempster (Walt Disney, 1942/1943). Featured in this lot are two exquisite original Key Master production backgrounds from two classic Disney shorts, each showcasing the masterful artistry of Disney Legend Al Dempster. The first background hails from the 1942 short The Army Mascot, directed by Clyde Geronimi, depicting a vibrant scene from the barracks where Pluto finds himself amidst comedic chaos. The second background comes from the 1943 short Pluto and the Armadillo, also directed by Geronimi, capturing the adventurous spirit as Mickey and Pluto chase after an armadillo in South America. Both backgrounds, hand-painted in gouache on 12 field-size boards, exemplify Dempster's exceptional talent and attention to detail.
