The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow Pan Background Painting (Walt Disney, 1949). "Tarrytown... and just beyond nestled deep in the low approaching hills is a sequestered glen. It's a peaceful place, but somehow... forbidden!" says the narrator of this film, Mr. Bing Crosby. This is an outstanding concept/pan background painting of the town and surrounding area of "Sleepy Hollow." This is a magnificent painting of 60" (5 feet!) x 12". The stunning gouache painting is marked 2062 Seq. 04.1 Sc7; it has been mounted to a newer backing board. Backgrounds in this film were painted by Art Reilly, Ray Huffine, Brice Mack, Merle Cox, and Ray Anthony. Color and styling staff included Mary Blair, Don DaGradi, Claude Coats, and John Hench. This is one of the longest Disney Studio paintings we have ever seen. It's a very impressive piece of artwork. Minor handling. Very Good condition.
