Terror on the Midway (Superman) Circus Layout Drawings Group of 2 (Max Fleischer, 1942). Who doesn't love the circus? If you ever went to one as a child, you probably either loved it or were scared of all the ferocious animals (maybe a little of both). From the final Superman cartoon completed by the Fleischer Studios comes these two-large image 16 field layout drawings of the circus tent that Lois Lane and Clark Kent are sent to cover by the Daily Planet newspaper. There are two views of the main circus tent. The first is a view from the midway, with the circus entrance in the distance; it appears pretty much this way onscreen, at the 2:00 mark. The second is an aerial view of the main tent, with two smaller tents and circus wagons around it. This is never actually shown in the film, but is a great reference piece for the background painters to follow. Both drawings are in heavy graphite, with image sizes approximately 13.25" x 9.75"; one drawing has an "OK Dave" notation by director Dave Fleischer. Condition is Good to Very Good, with considerable handling and edge wear the first drawing.
