Description

Tennis Racquet Goofy Animation Drawing Sequence of 3 (Walt Disney, 1949). "These boys play two entirely different types of tennis. Little Joe choosing the soft, steadier, defensive game, and Big Ben preferring the hard-driving, offensive, smashing, slashing, crashing game!" Offered in this lot is a rare sequence of three original animation drawings featuring Goofy from the Jack Kinney-directed theatrical short Tennis Racquet. This hilarious satire is part of the beloved sports series of Disney cartoons in which Goofy plays every role to demonstrate a popular sport. Tennis Racquet was released to theaters on 8/26/1949. These drawings were created for the moments seen at the 2:29 mark of the film, rendered expertly in graphite and color pencil on 12 field 5-peghole animation paper. Goofy measures a centered and approximate 4" to 4.75" tall, and the drawings are numbered 16, 19, and 54 in the lower right corners. Minor studio handling and edge wear, and the condition is Very Good.
