Susie the Little Blue Coupe Color Key Concept Painting by Mary Blair (Walt Disney, 1952). "But as the years passed, Susie's mileage rolled up and she began to show her age." Before Disney's mega-hit animation feature Cars, there was Susie the Little Blue Coupe. This short was directed by Clyde Geronimi and was released on 6/6/52. Sterling Holloway and Stan Freberg provided the voices. This was a rare Disney theatrical short, with some animation done by Ollie Johnston. Mary Blair, who was Art Director on this film, created this wonderful hand-painted concept Color Key. In Blair's version, Susie had a black top. The art is painted in gouache on illustration board measuring 12" x 10". Signed in the lower right border. Pinholes in corners and minor handling wear. Very Good condition.
