Superman Lois Lane Studio Oversized Model Sheet (Max Fleischer, c. 1941). Comic book superheroes were still in their infancy when Max Fleischer made the decision to approach National Periodicals (now know as DC) about adapting Superman into a series of theatrical cartoon shorts. The end result was a stunning collection of cartoons about the Man of Steel that are still today regarded as some of the best ever made. The shorts followed the comics closely, with Superman in disguise as "mild-mannered" reporter Clark Kent, who works for the Daily Planet with rival reporter Lois Lane. Here's a rare original studio-used model sheet print of Lois, in a "Head and Mouth Action Chart" with no less than 26 images of the spunky reporter. A printed Dave Fleischer sign-off signature can be found in the upper left corner, while animator Nick Tafuri's name has been written in the upper right. The sheet has a date of August, 1941, one month before the first short was released to theaters. The sheet is matted with an opening of 20.5" x 15", and is framed with Plexiglas for an overall size of 29" x 27" x 1.25". Frame is sold as-is. The sheet is in Good condition with handling wear, fold creases, and minor staining along the bottom edge.
