    Description

Superman Daily Planet Building/Metropolis Layout Drawing (Max Fleischer, 1941). The man who is "able to leap tall buildings with a single bound" went to work each day at the Daily Planet, largest newspaper in Metropolis. In this very rare layout drawing from the very first Superman cartoon, we see that building, and the surrounding skyscrapers of Metropolis. The image from this original production layout piece is from the start of the short, first seen on a YouTube version at the 2:17 mark and again at the 7:05 mark as the mad scientist's ray hits the building. This is a very detailed drawing, in graphite on a piece of 16 field 3-peghole animation paper, with an image size of 13.25" x 9.5". It's matted with an opening of 15.75" x 12", and framed with Plexiglas for an overall size of 24.25" x 23.5". Very Good condition with handling wear.
