    Description

Steve Kaufman Michigan J. Frog Limited Edition Fine Art Print on Canvas #1/50 (Warner Bros., 1999).
World renowned Pop Art artist Steve Kaufman was commissioned by the Warner Brothers Studio Store chain to do a series of definitive silkscreens of the famous Warner Brothers characters. Offered here is a rare piece from the Looney Tunes Expressions Series. Steve Kaufman (1960-2010) was the American Pop Artist who, in his teens, was an assistant to Andy Warhol at the famous "Factory" studio, and nicknamed SAK by Warhol. This is a hand-pulled silk screen on canvas portrait of Michigan J Frog, star of the hilarious 1955 cartoon, One Froggy Evening. Only 50 such pieces were made, and best of all, this is the #1 print in the edition. The canvas is stretched over a custom-made wood frame, and a striking glitter effect has been hand-embossed onto the face of the mischievous singing frog. Michigan J. Frog was the "face" of the WB Network at the time of this piece was created. Measuring 20" x 20", this fun cartoon star portrait was screen printed using oil paint on canvas, and it has a clean, ultra-modern look. In Excellent condition. Signed and numbered on the reverse, "To My Best Friend, SAK. W1/50." Includes a Certificate of Authenticity.
