Star Trek: The Animated Series "Albatross" Kirk, Spock and Dramen Production Cel Setup and Key Master Background (Filmation, 1973). In 1973, Star Trek returned to television as an animated series produced by Filmation Studios. Virtually the entire cast of the live-action series reprised their roles and creator Gene Roddenberry was given creative control. Despite critical acclaim and an Emmy award for Outstanding Entertainment - Children's Series, it only lasted two seasons with 22 episodes completed. This is an original production cel setup on Key Master background from episode 4 of season 2. Titled "Albatross" the episode focused on Dr. McCoy's arrest by the inhabitants of planet Dramia and accused of starting a plague there 20 years earlier. The hand-painted 12 field multi-cel setup features Kirk, Spock and a Dramian and is over a hand-painted Key Master background. It's a fantastic one-of-a-kind piece featuring the Captain of the Starship Enterprise, his first mate and an alien life-form on an alien planet. For Star Trek collectors, it can't get much better. The art is in a 20" x 16" frame under glass with a mat opening of 12" x 9". Condition is Very Good and frame is sold as-is.
