Stage Door Cartoon Elmer Fudd Production Cel on Master Production Background (Warner Brothers, 1944). "I'm hunting a certain wascally wabbit." explains Elmer at the start of this Friz Freleng-directed short. This is an original hand-inked, hand-painted production cel of Elmer from the 0:45 mark. The 4" x 6" image is on a 12 field production cel which is presented over a Master production background from moments later in the short. The background is hand-painted in gouache on 12.5" x 10", has an overlay cel of an airbrushed glow from a theater spotlight, and can be seen at the 1:56 mark as the Can Can dancers perform. This Master setup is a remarkable survivor from Warner Brothers' golden age of animation. The cel has some cracked paint and paint loss around Elmer's foot and the background has a few small scuffs. Condition is Very Good. From the Rev Chaney Archives.
