Description
Sonic the Hedgehog Original Publicity Illustration (SEGA, c. 1990s). This stunning publicity artwork depicts Sonic in full-figure, tapping his foot with his signature smirk, in an image similar to the immensely-popular early Game Gear artwork for the hedgehog. This style was pioneered for Sonic by Greg Martin, and this piece is clearly inspired by his smooth, vibrant airbrush designs for the supersonic hedgehog. This beautiful piece is created with gouache and airbrush on 15.5" x 22.5" paper. The painted image area measures about 12" x 17". The piece is affixed to illustration board by its top edge. The art is in Very Good condition, with some handling and wear. The paper has wear and creasing, particularly on its edges, as well as a few small tears around the edges and a 13" cut on the bottom edge of the paper (away from the illustration).Auction Info
