DescriptionSnow White and the Seven Dwarfs Grumpy Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1937).
Of all the dwarfs in this historic animated feature, we find Grumpy to be the most fascinating and complex. We never know the reason for his cultivated grumpiness, just that he maintains it as much as possible, only breaking into a smile when he feels no one is looking (like after Snow White plants a gentle kiss on his bald head). Here is the Grumpy we love, with a scowl on his face and carpenter's pencil in hand. This very rare original 12 field, 5-peghole animation drawing from the deleted "Building a Bed" scene, with art in graphite over red pencil and added blue pencil motion lines. The drawing is noted as number 291. Image size measures 3.5" x 3". Mild handling and edge wear. Condition is Very Good.
