Description

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Bed-Building Sequence Happy Animation Drawing Sequence of 4 (Walt Disney, 1937). Perpetually cheerful dwarf Happy tries to thread a needle with the help of a bird in this sequence of four original animation drawings from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. This is from the never-completed "Bed Building" scene, one of several scenes from the film cut for various reasons. In the scene, the dwarfs got together to think of some way to honor their new friend, and finally decide to carve an elaborate four-poster bed for Snow White. Happy is a rare Dwarf to find drawings of, and the fact that these are from a never-finished scene makes these pieces even rarer. The drawings are rendered with graphite and red pencil on 12 field, 5-peghole animation paper. They are numbered in their lower right corners with 1, 34, 55, and 108. The animator draft for this sequence credits this scene's animation to Bob Wickersham and Jim Algar. The drawings are in Very Good condition, with minor handling and edge wear, including age-related toning and minor smudging.
