Sleeping Beauty Prince Phillip and the Dragon Pan Production Cel Setup (Walt Disney, 1959). As the "Shield of Virtue" is knocked out of Prince Phillip's hand and goes over the edge of the cliff from a bolt of fire from Maleficent as a dragon, Merriweather casts a spell on the Prince's sword. "Thou sword of truth fly swift and sure... that evil die and good endure!" This is a simply breathtaking pair of pan hand-inked, hand-painted cels of Prince Phillip about to throw the Sword of Truth to kill the fearsome dragon, along with an extremely rare hand-inked, hand-painted production pan cel of Maleficent, transformed as the dragon. Image sizes of 2" and 13". The two pan cels are on a print background for presentation purposes. Framed with glass; matted with an opening size of 26" x 10", in an overall frame size of 36" x 19". What a dramatic scene! This is one of the single most impressive cels we have seen from this classic film. The ultimate Good vs Evil, Disney-style! Fine condition.
