"Ted's Cat - 50th Anniversary of the Cat in the Hat" Limited Edition Serigraph #120.125 (Dr. Seuss/Chase Group, 2007). To celebrate Dr. Seuss and the 50th birthday of the Cat in the Hat, the Chase Group released this limited edition serigraph. The piece was created from a Dr. Seuss original painting that he did in 1970 for a Sears and Roebuck project. This is a hand-pulled serigraph on Coventry rag paper. The piece measures a whopping 55" x 26". The Cat in the Hat is an amazing 44" tall! This is an impressive piece. The edition is now SOLD OUT and very difficult to find. The publisher's letter of authenticity is included in the lot. The artwork is unframed, minor handling wear; otherwise, Good condition.

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.
